2009-04-29 BJJ Class

Cassio Werneck BJJ - Sacramento CA - Cassio Werneck

Big class tonight. Tons of people. It's been a while since I've posted, but that's because it's been equally long since I trained. It was good to get out on the mat again.

Cassio taught some seated guard sweeps. The first started out like the classic seated guard sweep. Under hook to grab the belt, but instead of pinching the over hook arm you fall to that side and under hook the leg while you elevate your hook and spin your head underneath your opponent. You end up coming out the back. Finish out by grabbing the belt and using it as a handle taking their back.

The second was also starting from the seated guard, except cross sleeve grip. drive the arm across to the floor as you grip their belt with the opposite hand and get your head in front. Keeping them tight you are going to quickly underhook the leg, elevate and sweep them over yourself. Sorry no video, I forgot everything.

The rols were good, just trying to get back into it it feels like. rolled with big Al. He always moves around so effortlessly. I end up feeling like a white belt.

Good times.
